5 June 2016 – Sunday Morning

It’s 1:28AM Sunday morning and I’m home thinking about my trip to the UK on Monday. I believe I have everything I need and only a small load of laundry to get done today/Sunday. Compared to my treks to SE Asia (SEA), this seems like a piece of cake. I’m glad I woke in the middle of last night remembering to call my credit/debit companies to let them know I’ll be traveling overseas. I forgot to do that with my debit card on my last trip to SEA and the first time I went to get cash from the ATM it was denied! Oh man!!! That’s a nightmare! It took two phone calls to card services and several more hours before it was finally working! It was interesting how American Express told me today that one no longer needs to call. Not sure how that now works. She said something about knowing by my previous transactions. HUH? That was a year and a half ago. Anyway… just so everything works and no card denials.

So today is packing day. I started with some things several days ago. I decided to lose the suitcase and go with a travel backpack and to seriously minimize how much I take. Dragging a suitcase around SEA was a real drag… pun intended!! This is the pack I’m using…

I’ll let you know how it goes! Fingers crossed!!! Even though it is designed to fit in the overhead bin, I’m going to check it (the straps can be concealed so it pretty much becomes a piece of luggage).
