Georgia, Georgia… Savannah on my mind.

17 – 18 November 2016

I decided to make a short stop in Savannah on my way back from the mountains. This beautiful city sits in NE Georgia on the South Carolina border. I’ve been here a couple times before but still have only scratched the surface of her history.

I stayed at the lovely Planters Inn on Reynolds Square. Did you know that Savannah originally had 24 squares? Twenty-two remain. I took a 90 minute overview tour of the city with Old Savannah Tours on Friday morning. They’re a locally owned and operated company that does an exceptional job. At several of the stops (out of 16), historic characters of the area boarded the trolley to tell us more about the stop and their role in Savannah.
