Dames at Sea
29 August 2016 – Monday
Had a great sleep as this ship rocked and rolled through the night. We actually slept in a bit and didn’t get up until 9:30. Had a good buffet breakfast then went to the group’s Koffee Klatch for all 164 of us to get together to talk about group activities for the remainder of the trip. Derek and Romaine introduced first time DNR Cruisers, veteran cruisers as well as Keith, Chris, and Beau who have been on all five. Keith was also introduced as the person who donated a kidney to Carrie whom he and Chris had become good friends with on a previous cruise! I think that is such an incredible gift. They did not know each other until one of the cruises and became close friends then Carrie’s health deteriorated and was in dire need of a transplant and Keith volunteered, was tested and found to be a match. The transplant occurred in early June of this year. Keith lives in California and Carrie in Pennsylvania where the transplant occurred.
We had a games session this afternoon with card games. I didn’t get a chance to play but Telestrations looked pretty cool… it’s a game where people sketch in a booklet with dry erase markers then pass to the next person who guesses what you drew and write your guess on the next page then pass. That person draws what name was passed to him. Fun!
I started playing a card game called Fluxx. OY! I didn’t like it at all. Thank god it only lasted about 30 minutes. It was much more my speed when Rosie and Therese and I played Uno! LOL
Next stop was a group pic! BIG group. We went to the theatre and the photographers had us sit. There was no way to get that big a group standing without risers. Plus this rowdy group would have never paid enough attention to do it! HA! We then had a chance to have individual pix taken with Derek and Romaine if we wanted to. They’re so much fun… most people jumped at the chance.
