Glacier Bay National Park

1 September 2016 – Thursday

Today would be the day that we spent on Glacier Bay taking in the awe and majesty of this wondrous part of the world.

Up early upon hearing multiple announcements over the ship’s PA from a National Park Service Ranger. After breakfast I went out to the the aft of the ship on Deck 12. The sun shone brightly, the temp was around 50F/10C, and the DNR fan crew was out in abundance. The sun was so bright I put on sunscreen for my face. The ship went into a couple coves. It was bizarre as the ship sit & spin on it’s axis! The rangers said that we were having once in a lifetime weather. I think his best comment was, “The rainy season here is January to December,” and this was unbelievable weather where we had sun, blue skies, AND could see the tops of the mountains! These are a few shots of the area. I’ll put more into a gallery.
