BFF’s Again
13 January 2015 – Tuesday
I am REALLY going to try to write more. I love to write but sometimes I just get so wrapped up in my trip that I forget all about it.
Left Orlando at the crack of dawn on Tuesday, January 13. It was 5:00AM when I actually left the house. My great house mate and pal, Michael, got up and took me to MCO. Good flights… MCO to JFK to Tokyo to Bangkok (BKK). The LONG leg from New York to Tokyo also happened to be a FREEZER of a plane! OMG. It had to be 60F or lower. I was wearing long khakis and a short sleeve shirt. I finally began to feel comfortable after freezing for about an hour or so with one blanket. I requested more and ended up with THREE. They’re very thin but that did the job.
Arrived here in BKK on time at 11:35pm Wednesday night (11:35am Wednesday morning Eastern time). My Thai pal, Wat, picked me up and we got into the city center around 1:00am. I was pretty much awake as I had FINALLY gotten a couple hours of decent sleep on the last leg from Tokyo. That aircraft was an Airbus 330 (I think) and seemed fairly new. The seats were much more comfortable than the Boeing 777 from JFK and previous 747’s that I’ve taken. I think the cushions may have had foam in them instead of straw! LOL
Wat and I stayed up talking till 3:30am then up at 9:00. Ran a few errands then he had to go to work. I hung out in the Terminal 21 Mall that is just down the street. Cool place. Back at the hotel to blog a bit and get a nap.
