The Love Cruise

I spent the week with old and new friends that are fans of www.DerekandRomaine.com ‘s Radio Show. We dubbed it The Love Cruise since it was Valentine’s Week. No special valentine for me but still fun. Three hundred of us, listener fans, sailed out of Port Canaveral on the Norwegian Cruise Lines’ Epic. It’s a beautiful ship, the seas were very calm, the food was great and the islands were gorgeous. I bought four specialty dinner nights that were delicious. I ate a lot, drank several adult beverages and managed only gain ONE pound! YEAH! Even with those frozen Bush Whackers and Miami Vices.
I think the water around the islands of the Eastern Caribbean are possibly the most beautiful blue I have ever seen. Our ports of call were St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands; Tortola, British Virgin Islands; and NCL’s private island, Great Stirrup Cay. I only did one excursion and that was from St. Thomas to the nearby island of St. John. It was a three hour tour of the island… no we didn’t run into Gilligan or anyone else from the SS Minnow.
