Lake District

10 June 2016 – Friday

The day started out kind of gray. Khoa and I set off for the Lake District around noon in the car. Took about an hour to get to the region north of here in Cumbria. After a few crazy but beautiful adventures down unknown roads… We couldn’t get a signal for the GPS and had no map… we stumbled upon Fell Foot! The sun was out, the temp was beautiful in the low 70’s. We walked along the lake and then stopped for a snack and coffee at the boat house. The countryside is lovely with historic villages throughout the region.

After lunch we drove through Windermere and just continued wandering somewhat aimlessly while enjoying every bend in the road. We passed a stunning stone bridge and after driving a couple miles decided we had to turn around and go back. What a great spot! The pix will be posted soon for you to decide. ?

Got back home at 6:30 and then out for another pub meal at The Clog and Billycock. Mark and Khoa have been before and it was easy to see, or taste, why. I had Steak and Lancashire Ale Pie. It was so delicious. The meat was very tender and quite filling. Mark had the same as me while Khoa had the fish pie.
