Saturday Morning

Got home about 11:00PM last night. Had made sure the nurses had my cell phone.

Got back here at 9:30 this morning. She says she had a restful night but unfortunately she had been waiting over an hour to try to take a walk but the staff was busy doing rounds and dispensing morning meds. By the time they got here to help her out of bed she was too tired to walk. She did sit in the chair for awhile which is better than staying in the bed.

I think she is trying hard to do what the doctor has asked but becomes exasperated when the staff is unable to help her. Maybe we can get their “schedules” to synchronize soon. She’s also concerned that she is sleeping too much but we’re trying to have her realize that the rest is also healing.

Today is the second full day since surgery and she says she feels like it is the most uncomfortable. It sounds like the same thing as when doing a hard job or workout… the day after is not a problem but by the second day the muscles are exhibiting the pain.

It’s such a beautiful day today with sunny skies and temps in the low 70’s, it’s too bad we’re not yet ready to get outside.
